Haru the Inugami Hybrid

   This one, however, was originally created and thought up by my friend . So technically she wrote Haru's profile, but since she is helping me with researching about Japanese mythology and yokai for this story, I have drawn her and am adding her character in the story as a thank you!  

As for this moment, I'm simply just getting my thoughts together for the characters, and organizing information. I will have others up here soon along with their profiles 

Name: Haru

Age: 58 years 

Height/Weight: 5'1", 120 lbs

Body type: Athletic

Texture (i.e. of hands, skin, etc.): Her hands are soft yet her palms typically have a few blisters on them from hunting. When in her full demon form as a dog, her fur is wiry.


Clothing style/frequently worn clothes: Her frequently worn clothes include a kimono with torn off sleeves, a cape of fur that has a hood, pants, and she wears no shoes.


Eye color (list synonyms): Her eyes are red. The general eye shape is a bit more open than the typical almond shape for better range of vision.


Hair color and style (list synonyms): Her hair is a dark brown, matching the clan of dog demons in the area. When she's transformed her hair is black and wiry. Typically she wears her long hair in pig tails at the base of her head.


Other distinguishing physical traits (2 or 3 unique tags, specific to only that character): She has prominent dog like ears on top of her head, sharp canines, and a prominent dog tail.


Action tags (i.e.scratching head, nail biting, etc.): Occasionally after bathing she'll shake off the water and scratch behind her ears with her foot.


Verbal tags (i.e. “My, my,” “Huh?” etc.) (also list speaking style: talkative, soft-spoken, loud, formal, accent, fast,etc.): Haru typically speaks in a Kansai like fashion which means she uses vocabulary that sounds friendly and a bit more aggressive than typical Japanese.


Characteristic tags (i.e. timidity, drunkenness, arrogance, etc.): Since she wasn't raised knowing how to respect gods and such of the sort, she has a tendency of stealing from shrines and eating/drinking from offerings if she's hungry enough. She loves her sake and won't turn away having one with good company, however since she has a low tolerance it makes it easy to drink her under the table.

Physical imperfections or something would most like to change: Wishes she could don a more feminine physique and appearance. 

Race/Ethnic group: Inugami/ Dog Yokai

Religion: None to speak of

Years of schooling: She didn't attend school. However, due to her love of traveling in the human world, she tends to pick up tid bits of knowledge and information at the places she stays.

Any special occupational training: See above ^^^

Occupation: No occupation because of lack of employment in both the spirit and human realms.

Skills, Abilities, and Talents: Possession (only when she's employed by a human or other), incredibly sharp nails, can spit acid on a whim, and can hear/smell exceptionally well.


Personality Type (Include Archetype): ENFJ The Giver, despite putting up a tough and aggressive front, those who are weaker and friends of hers, bring out her instincts to help and nurture them so they'll get better. 

Admirable personality traits (strengths): Strong willed, protective, caring, passionate, witty

Negative personality traits (weaknesses): Possessive, Laziness, Jealousy, Prideful, Judging

Quirks or eccentricities (off beat manner of behavior, dress, or speech that is peculiar to a person and distinguishes them from others): Haru also has a habit of clenching her left fist when she's lying and bites her lower lip when she's guilty.

Things that make him/her angry: She's very possessive over the things she is given and gets very angry when she is referred to as a half-breed and will not hesitate to hit someone who calls her such.

Method of handling anger: Most of the time she takes out her aggression on trees but if the person is strong enough she'll threaten them to a fight. Typically afterwards she calms down and returns to normal.

Things that embarrass: She gets very embarrassed when people touch her ears or tail, since they're very sensitive it leaves her in a vulnerable position. Haru also can't stand to be corrected or called out when she is wrong.

 
Method of handling embarrassment:  She will most likely pout and avoid talking or interacting with the person for a while.


Fears: She has a great fear of thunder and cowers when it storms, and the ocean.

Method of handling fear: She will hide in caves or any place she can fit to avoid it and cover her ears, and just doesn’t go near the ocean.


Bad habits or vices: When left with a bottle of sake she won't hesitate to drink the whole thing and can get so plastered that she can't tell what's up and what's down. She also has a habit of saying very perverted or awkward things to those she likes and typically cusses when things don't go her way.


Prejudices: She feels that most full demons/spirits are “full of themselves” and “cowards”. Haru can be very hostile towards those she feels are like this. And doesn't like Shin very much, to begin with, because of this.

Sense of Humor: Sarcastic and Dirty

Physical illness or affliction: Like most other demons/spirits she can contract colds and other human diseases but not as often unless if she doesn't take care of herself.

Hobbies/Interests: Exploring the forests, hunting, training her dexterity and strength.

Favorite Foods: Sukiyaki, Dango, Udon, Sake, Green Tea, Tonkatsu

Favorite Stories: Tale of Princess Kaguya

Favorite Color: Red

Favorite Place: A secluded cave in the side of a large mountain in the human realm.

Item(s) special to character: Her fur cloak.

 Person/friend close to character: 1.) Goroyama the Oni, which is relatively strained, due to the Oni’s negative view on humans (since she is a half-human). 2.) Shin the Kitsune (though it’s more of a love hate relationship) 3.) Umeko a human that Haru becomes very loyal and attached to after meeting her through her other friends. 

Description of home, home life, and economic status: Haru lives in the human world, and travels frequently to different locations, but can also enter the spirit realm. She doesn't mind living in simplicity but secretly would like to be accepted among the full demon Inugami Yokai.

Brief family history: Haru was born to a full Inugami demon named Daiki and a human woman named Sachiko. The pair didn’t stay together because of the prejudice between the two races and went their separate ways after the affair. After Haru’s birth, Sachiko had a hard time coping with her half-demon daughter, and in an attempt to relieve the stress, she abandoned her, forcing Haru to adapt by herself or from the help of locals who were kind enough to take her in for a time being.

Character’s goals (What they want)(Their biggest dream): Her main goal is to be accepted among her clan and other demons.

Character’s motivation (Why they want the above goal): In accomplishing these goals she'll find peace within herself and find a place where she fits in.


Character’s conflict (What is keeping them from their goal): Because of her attitude it makes it hard for her to ask help from others and she tries to do things by herself. She is typically lost in self-loathing, thinking that she can't be good enough to be part of the clan because of what she is.


Summarize character’s Fatal Flaw (the main problem to work through): Haru needs to prioritize and not get caught up in herself. If she learns to be more generous with her time and energy she'll prosper and gain the skills she needs to better herself.
