So, as I said, I plan on rewriting The Addison Diary. For more information on that, see my journal --> New and Improved! So I've decided to improve and rewrite my story The Addison Diary.
After re-reading the original, I've noted that there was a lot of loose ends, plot holes, inaccuracies, and just a bunch of mediocre writing. In other words, I know I could do much better, especially since I love the characters and it has the basis of being a good story.
Improvements included...
I've decided to change the time period to 1910, it will make more sense with the ideas of the stories and the sanatorium history. The sanatorium itself, where the majority of the story takes place, will be much more detailed in nature. I've already mapped out the entire structure, including 4 floors and a basement which holds 300 beds. The antagonist is different. Madame West will still be present, but I've come to realize that the true antagonist should be the disease, tuberculosis. The story should have been all about that from the beginning, and it was my first intention in the original, but I fee

Anyway, in the mean time, while I work on that and get it in order, I've decided to work on some art for it, practicing what I plan to write. ;) (Wink)
The scene, here, I want to add as the first meeting between the two characters, John Sernack and Andreaus Addison (Andre). For those who are wondering, John is a medical student on an internship at a Tuberculosis Sanatorium while Andre is one of the many consumptive patients he ends up getting stuck with. Of course, John, being the proper gentleman he is, is trying to make a good impression with polite bedside manner, however, being ill certainly hasn't mellowed down the sarcastic little character, Andre is.

Also, for those who may not know about the treatment for tuberculosis back in the early 1900s, sanatoriums were built out in the countrysides and mountains, away from civilization, so that patients might get well from the fresh cool air. One of the methods to acquire this air was moving the patients' beds out onto a type of porch for sunlight and the cool breeze from their room. This practice was used everyday for as long as possible, even in the winter. Hence why Andre's bed is out on a porch :D (Big Grin)

Another thing, for those wondering, yes, the head of Andre's bed is slanted. This was actually a purposeful designed used by sanatorium owners to help their consumptive patients elevate their heads as they rested or slept.

~Enjoy!
